Our Mission at TechLabs
TechLabs exists to reduce e-waste, extend the life of technology, and make refurbished devices more accessible. We repair, refurbish and redeploy devices that might otherwise end up in landfill.
The problem
Every year, millions of devices are discarded while they still have years of useful life left in them. E-waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams globally, wasting valuable materials and contributing to unnecessary carbon emissions.
At the same time, many people and organisations still struggle to access affordable, reliable technology.
Our approach
- Collect unwanted tech through our donation and intake channels.
- Diagnose, repair and refurbish devices wherever possible.
- Resell or donate refurbished devices to extend their life and support access to tech.
- Responsibly recycle devices that can't be saved, recovering value where we can.
- Track our environmental impact in terms of e-waste diverted and CO₂e avoided.

Our vision
We're building a small but growing circular tech lab: a place where devices are repaired, reused, and reimagined instead of thrown away. Over time, we want to:
- Scale up device intake and refurbishment capacity.
- Donate more refurbished devices to individuals and projects that need them.
- Run community repair events and education workshops.
- Open-source repair knowledge and share what we learn.
How you can help
TechLabs is still early, but there are already a few simple ways to support the mission:
- Donate your old tech so we can refurbish or recycle it responsibly.
- Buy refurbished instead of new when you can.
- Share our work with friends, colleagues, or organisations that might want to partner.
